Hello fellow members,
The reunion is coming up shortly and we thought that we would tell you about it
in time enough to make your plans to attend.
This year the Army Transportation Association Vietnam reunion will be held in
Pigeon Forge, TN at the Cold Creek Resort from June 9 through the 13th. Their
telephone numbers are; 866-794-0580 (toll free) and 865-453-0625 (direct to the
Hotel). When you call for reservations mention that you are with the ATAV
reunion. The room rate will be $65.00 + tax a night and it is good for the whole
week. Arrangements can be made with the hotel for the same rate if you want to
stay longer. There is an indoor swimming pool at the Hotel. We will have a
stocked hospitality suite. The Banquet will be on Saturday evening and will
feature a buffet style meal. ATAV Vice President Don Mangus is lining up
entertainment for that. Please fill out the enclosed registration form and
return it by May 1st if you are going to attend to give us time to finish our
planning. Thanks.
The ATAV business meeting will be on Saturday and we will be holding our
elections at that time. All of the officer positions and the Board of Directors
positions are up for election and every member whose dues are up to date and are
for a two year period are eligible to seek those positions.
If you are going to attend and want to serve as an officer of the ATAV please

accepted from the floor at the meeting. The officer positions are, President,
Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, or Secretary/Treasurer and Member of the
Board of Directors. We will also be deciding where we will hold the next
Reunion. Remember you must be a member with at least 2 years remaining on your
dues so check your cards to see if they are up to date.
Don and Denise Mangus live close to Pigeon Forge and have checked out a bus trip
for the ATAV. We will be offering a bus tour to Cherokee, NC to the casino there
then on to a bear Zoo and Indian Village of the Cherokee Nation where there will
be dances and other things. The cost of the bus trip will be $5.00 a person and
is about an 8 ½ to 9 Hour trip. The tip to the bus driver will be up to the
individual members on the trip.
There are many shows and eating establishments in Pigeon Forge and discount
tickets will be available at the Hotel.
